Monarch Way Station and Butterfly Garden

2010

 circa summer 2010

In 2010, the sod was removed to make way for twenty-seven different varieties of rose, four butterfly gardens, a dozen lilacs and an enhanced rock garden. To learn how you can help the Monarchs (and other butterflies and bees!) check out Monarch Watch at http://www.monarchwatch.org/waystations/

The roses are mostly heritage roses and were purchased at a variety of heirloom sales. Most have done well to survive the winters of Zone 5, and a few new ones usually find their way here.
